West Vancouver work skews higher-end: post-and-beam houses with serious budgets, dining-table commissions in the $4,000–$8,000 range, and built-ins for the kind of kitchen renovation that runs $80,000+. We do a steady fraction of our annual work in West Van, mostly via word-of-mouth.

West Vancouver covers a lot of geography — Ambleside down to the water, Dundarave village, the British Properties up the slope, Caulfeild and Glenmore further west.

What West Vancouver houses actually need

Two patterns dominate.

  • Post-and-beam house carpentry. The 1960s West Coast Modern houses up the slope have exposed beams, full-height glazing, and very specific wood tones. Built-ins have to match the existing fir or cedar (often discontinued species mixes). We hand-pick lumber from the shop's inventory to colour-match.
  • Architect-led custom kitchen pantries. West Vancouver renovations often come through an architect — we work to their drawings, quote the cabinetry portion line-itemed, and coordinate with the GC on site sequencing.

Typical response time in West Vancouver

Twenty minutes from the shop via the Lions Gate Bridge — bridge traffic is the variable.

  • Weekday 09:00 – 16:00 (avoiding bridge peak): same-week site visits
  • Weekday rush hours: we schedule West Van work outside 07:30 – 09:30 and 16:00 – 18:30 if possible
  • Built-in install lead time: 8 to 14 weeks (larger jobs)
  • Architect-coordinated work: we sit in design meetings if invited, billed at $95 CAD/hr after the first meeting

Site logistics for West Vancouver

Most West Van houses have wide driveways — never a parking issue. The variable is bridge traffic, which we factor into the quote as estimated drive-time on multi-day install jobs. For furniture deliveries, we usually time them for between 10:00 and 14:00 to avoid both rush hours.
