Streets we work most weeks
Deep Cove's lanes are narrower than the rest of the North Shore — some of the heritage-cabin streets won't take our van past the front gate. We've learned to park up by Mount Seymour Parkway and walk in with a tool roll for the tight spots.
- Panorama Drive — original 1920s seaside cabins, restoration and refinish work
- Naughton, Caledonia, Cliffmont — 1970s renovations
- Mount Seymour Parkway — newer custom homes, large built-in commissions
- Indian River Drive — heritage water-view cabins, lots of cedar restoration
- Roslyn Boulevard — split-level retrofits, similar to Lynn Valley work
What Deep Cove houses actually need
The salt air and the moisture do specific things to woodwork that you don't see further west.
- Cabin-restoration carpentry. Original cedar siding split by sixty years of marine humidity; replacement plank cuts, scarfed in. We do this on shop time and bring the boards out pre-finished.
- Built-ins that handle wet jackets and kayak gear. Standard mudroom requirements but heavier — three pegs per family member, a drying rail with airflow, and a slatted bench seat that lets water drain.
- Dining tables for great-rooms with harbour views. Bigger than the average commission — usually a 2.4-metre slab on a sled, because the views and the rooms can take it.
Typical response time in Deep Cove
25 minutes from the shop on a clear morning. We schedule Deep Cove visits for mid-morning slots to dodge the Mount Seymour ski-traffic on winter weekends.
- Weekday 08:00 – 17:00: same-week site visits in 80% of cases
- Saturday: shop visits only, no Deep Cove site work weekends
- Restoration pick-up from the cove: included in the price; we batch with other Cove pickups
- Built-in install lead time: 8 to 12 weeks
Site logistics for Deep Cove
Some of the heritage-cabin streets — Panorama particularly — are too tight for the van past a certain point. We park at the Deep Cove Park lot and walk in with a tool roll for measures. For installs we use a smaller cube van that handles the lanes better; this gets reflected in a small trip-time line on the quote, not a separate fee.
